26. Autopilot

For most of the flight, autopilot is usually turned on. This is a good thing as it allows the computer to make the most accurate adjustments which leads to better use of fuel except in the event of turbulence. When this happens, the pilot will fully take control of the aircraft.

The autopilot is seldom used when the plane is taking off or landing. These two processes depend on the pilot’s expertise.
