He became a fan favorite not just from his incredible ice skating performances, but also his bold and charming personality. Celebrities like Sally Fields, Zach Braff and Reese Witherspoon reached out to him on Twitter. Also, he was outspoken about Vice President Mike Pence’s anti-gay stance, and thus, refused to attend the post-Olympics celebration with the VP at the White House. He also posted pictures with Gus Kenworthy, fellow gay Olympian, to call out Pence on his anti-gay agenda, but also celebrate their sexuality.
