Why was Czech snowboarder, Ester Ledecka’s gold so incredible? Oh, just because she decided to try out skiing for fun and ended up beating out the front-runner, Austrian skier Anna Veith. Ledecka borrowed a friend’s skis and won the gold in the Super-G run during the 2018 Winter Olympics. Even she thought it was a mistake and commented, “I really don’t know what happened. You tell me … I was riding. I really don’t know what happened. It was great.”
