Who ever said nerds and jocks couldn’t get along? Well, it’s fair to say tennis superstar — and arguably one of the best female tennis players of all time — Serena Williams and Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian are defying that notion. The couple reportedly first dated in 2015, just before the French Open.

According to Vanity Fair, Serena invited him to hang out before the tournament began, and they walked the streets of Paris together for six hours. Before they knew it, Ohanian became one of Serena’s biggest fans by regularly attending her matches. Eventually, Alexis proposed to her in 2016 in Rome.
