1. Fruit cake

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but naming it after "fruit" doesn't make this cake healthy. In fact, the opposite is true. Made from preserves and dried fruits, ginger, flour, butter, eggs, spices, and then soaked in alcohol, this classic slice of the ancient sweetness can absorb more than 400 calories. We know that wine is good for us, but not very good. Warm cloves, star anise and fruit make it attractive in cold weather, but once you add honey and juice or cider to your wine, the drink becomes an unnecessary high calorie, high sugar bomb. Some recipes contain more than 200 calories per meal and 23 grams of sugar. Avoid the thought-provoking stuff and enjoy a simple wine bar. Just because mung bean is a vegetable doesn't mean you know it all. Thanks to the concentrated cream mushroom soup and fried onions, this holiday staple is high in calories and rich in sodium. One serving should contain at least 230 calories and 500 milligrams of sodium. All sodium causes swelling, which kills the emotions of either side.

4. Caramel popcorn is a delicious high fiber snack. But mix it with sugar and corn syrup, and the grams of calories and sugar add up. Popcorn balls and caramel popcorn are often served at holiday parties, and you may get a large jar of popcorn as a gift. Lima Kleiner, a nutrition expert and health consultant, suggests sticking to your healthy eating plan and replacing it with popcorn. Add a little butter and salt, or no salt, and a little cinnamon and sugar to the regular popcorn to make your own "sweet" corn.

5. Spinach artichoke dip doesn't sound that bad - it has two vegetables, after all. But this seemingly harmless appetizer has high calories. "Half a cup of spinach artichoke with sauce is almost 300 calories, but most people don't stop eating half a cup," warns nutritionist iris Shapiro. With French fries, you're 450 calories or more! " If you're tempted to dip in sauce, eat raw vegetables and salsa or low calorie condiments. Or, just take a bite of the tempting sweetness and walk away.

6. Eggnog is one of the most popular drinks during the festival. Eggnog is also one of the highest calorie drinks. Rima Kleiner, a nutritionist, warns that a cup of this mixture of cream, eggs and Bourbon Whisky usually contains 350 calories, 150 milligrams of cholesterol and 20 grams of sugar. " Choose cider or home-made eggnog and use skim milk, pasteurized protein and nutmeg to significantly reduce calories and fat. These alternatives allow the traditional drink to spin healthily, and you don't feel like missing out on your favorite holiday drink.

7. Pecan pie in ice cream: This is the most popular dessert in the festival. Well, this popular pie is one of the biggest culprits for calories. Of course, pies are needed during the holiday season, but try to stay away from Pecan Varieties. Nutritionist iris Shapiro has warned that one tablet can contain 540 calories, 33 grams of sugar and 22 grams of fat. Explore many healthy recipes that help reduce calories, fat and sugar, or eat a small pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie contains less calories, sugar and fat. Don't let their appearance fool you. Nutritionist iris Shapiro says these appetizers look lovely and innocent, but a glass of these meatballs - with cream sauce - can contain up to 400 calories. With butter, cream and white bread to tie the meatballs and high sodium broth together, you may have a real food disaster on your hands. Try to pass on these little devils and replace them with some vegetables. Save your calories and buy something bigger.

9. Sweet potato pie is rich in nutrition and vitamins. A sweet potato contains twice the amount of vitamin A you need every day, but when you add sweet potatoes to pies and other desserts, these super foods can put dieters in a dilemma. Austin nutritionist Dr. Fuyou warned that ET potato pie with marshmallow can contain more than 500 calories and a lot of sugar and fat. With ice cream and other delicious foods, the calories will increase. Put a small piece of butter and some cinnamon, brown sugar and spices on the sweet potato to make a healthier dish.

10. Without these delicious appetizers, holiday parties would be different. This is the hostess's favorite gift and appetizer, accompanied by biscuits and hard bread. This seemingly innocent snack is rich in fat calories. "Cheese balls are rich in saturated fat, it's OK to eat them in moderation, but they're not so healthy in a single cheese ball," said Dr. Fuyou anantau, a nutritionist. Better to eat hummus and vegetables than cheese balls and biscuits. Nutritionist Rima Kleiner warns that traditional sweet potato casseroles - sweet potatoes mixed with butter, sugar and marshmallow - are rich in calories, fat and sugar. A typical diet can contain 460 calories and 16 grams of fat per meal. But you don't have to miss this holiday dish. As an alternative, making a low calorie diet can reduce the amount of butter used and enhance the flavor with the citrus flavor. A light casserole contains only 250 calories and 10 grams of fat per meal.

12. Sausage stuffing

is no longer the specialty of ThanksgivingYes, it's hard to find a holiday table without stuffing. However, certified dietitian iris Shapiro suggests exploring a healthier version, or avoiding the dish altogether. This classic delicacy is rich in butter and high-fat meat, with more than 350 calories per meal and nearly 17 grams of fat. Explore a healthier option, including recipes using fruit, wild rice, quinoa and mushrooms instead of white bread or meat. You can also use broth instead of adding fat to keep the filling moist.
