33. Indispensable English

It is very important that the people who work in an airline especially inside the plane understand English. If you are a pilot and wish to fly across different boarders outside the country you need to have at the very least, the level four certificate from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

This is a standard that was developed back in 1988 when ICAO believed that most accidents on air occurred due to a lack of proper understanding between the controllers of the plane, the commanders and the co-pilots. Even the flight attendants need to understand English so that they help passengers and to enable them to give instructions accordingly.
