10 Fastest Things On Earth

Tianhe-2

The Tianhe-2 based in China’s National University of Defense Technology is the world’s fastest and most powerful computer. It can complete the astonishing task of performing 33.86 quadrillion floating point operations in only 1 second. This means that China’s super computer performs more than 4,000 times better than Apple’s most powerful MAC made up of thousands of Intel Xeon E5-2692 V2 2.2 GHz processors.

The machine runs a version of Linux specially developed by NUDT and cost 390 million dollars to make. Of course a machine like this wasn’t built by a single man – more than 1,300 engineers and scientists joined their efforts to create this technological masterpiece.
